Both of them were single parents who'd gone through some hard lessons in their first marriage. They were in their thirties and had every reason to be sceptical that they were going to find true love.
Lucky for us, instead of believing the naysayers, both Scot and Emily took charge of their dating lives, and the result was a fairytale wedding in 2006. Scot and Emily both had fun and fulfilling dating lives before meeting one another on Match.com, but once they'd met, they knew they were it for one another.
Scot and Emily now counsel women and men in taking charge of their dating lives and creating the relationship of their dreams. They believe in the philosophy of "deserving what you want," which means that you need to become the best possible person you can be in order to attract the best possible mate. As Emily says, "That happy, cute, wonderful couple you wish you could be is not an accident. It's actually by virtue of work that you accomplish that.... Luck has nothing to do with it."
