Thanks for the inspiration Sarah. I have a nice job, I start my post grad. next semeter at a good university, I have wonderful friends who are almost angels and a good family. But I was unhappy for a long time, but after readying this article, I was inspired. It touched me and I will stop acting as though I don’t have a life because my love is far away and we are loosing touch.

I love your independence day reflection. Everything you said was so thoughtful and right on the money. Sometimes in trying to please men and win their approval I have lost sight of those who love me for who I really am. Being true to yourself with leave you with a life with few regrets.

Great idea! I agree with you. We women don’t need to have boyfriends or husbands aside to be successful or happy. We definitely can create our success and happiness on our own.

I liked this and forwarded it to my two daughters… I have learned it the hard way. I hope they can read this article, hear me when I speak, and know that who they are is not fashioned or molded by having a man in their lives. The right man knows this too.

I guess its the ‘insecurity’ & fear of being left out is what makes so many women desperados. rather than appreciating what lies around them (family, friends)…they end up wasting hours trying to be noticed by someone they have a crush on & end up crestfallen when things don’t turn in their favour. even if it works out…there’s the challenge of maintaining the r/ship.

now, now…if one doesn’t feel COMPLETE in the first place, how are they going to connect with another person?? I believe its of utmost importance to develop good self-sufficiency (esteem) & spending time with people who already exist inb our lives & treasure them.

When the time comes…u dont have to go ‘man-hunting’…the right man will be attracted to your qualities & walk into your life (when u r both ready for each other).
